Is your trunk lid feeling extra heavy? Does it close with a SLAM instead of dropping gracefully? If so, it's likely the gas piston on your E36 Convertible's trunk has failed, and is no longer helping hold the weight of the trunk lid. This replacement trunk shock is made specifically for the E36 convertibles trunklid (which is specific to the cabrio/convertible models) and is pressured to the same as the original trunk shock. It installs just as the original one does, and will help cure your trunk-slamming blues.
