Hood Shock - E36 2 Door (EXCEPT ti) - 51238119558

This Hood Shock (or hood strut) is for 2-door E36 (not including ti) is an OEM gas shock to replace the tired shocks that no longer hold up your hood, or prevent it from dropping on your head. You'll find this hood shock on 2 door coupe and convertible body style E36. This includes 1992-1999 3 series 2 door coupe and 1994-1999 3 series convertible, such as 318is, 325is, 323is, 328is, E36 M3 (2 door), 318ic, 325ic, 323ic, 328ic, and E36 M3 convertible. 

This hood shock/strut is made by an Original Equipment (OE) manufacturer - in this case either STABILUS or Meistersatz. Either of these brands are top quality and pressurized to the same spec as the original BMW part, in this case 280N or pressure. This allows the hood to open more easily, but close without slamming. If your E36's hood either is heavy and won't stay up, or closes way to hard/fast then it's time for new hood shocks.

Sold individually. Each E36 requires 2 per hood, so be sure to buy two and do the job right. Each hood shock can be used on either the left side or right side of the hood. 

NOT for "ti" compact models.
