Trunk Shock / Strut - E46 Sedan & Coupe - 51248254281

When your E46 trunk shock is tired, your trunk lid won't stay up or will slam shut on its own without any (or much) assistance. There are two gas pressurized trunk shocks (also known trunk struts) that support the weight of the trunk to make it easier to lift and open, and keep it open while your inside the trunk. 

Once one (or both) of these shocks start to fail, the trunk lid will seem heavier to open and begin to "slam" shut unintentionally. 

Fortunately on an E46 this is a pretty easy fix! These direct replacement trunk shocks install in place of the tired and failing old trunk shocks. They are the correct length and physical dimension and come pressurized to the correct tension to restore your trunk lid back to normal operation. 

Sold individually. There are two (2) of these found on each car. We recommend replacing both at the same time. Be sure to add to to your cart if you are replacing more than one.
