This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 12311405918 and is described as Alternator/Generator, 115 Amp, for S52 powered Z3 M Roadster and M Coupe from 1998 to 2000 (including 1998, 1999, 2000) *Please note, only for S52 engine. The later models use a different unit.
This is a NEW alternator, and not remanufactured. No core charge or core return applies, making the purchase a much more straight forward process.
This alternator has been sold under two different part numbers, either 12311405902 (12 31 1 405 902) or 12311405918 (12-31-1-405-918). This is the brand new version, which has not be remanufactured.
