Premium racing differential for the Spec E46 class, exclusive to BimmerWorld. A product of our race testing and development program with Diffsonline, this new unit has all the bells and whistles for maximum performance.
Built specifically for the Spec E46 race class (E46 330i platform), the BimmerWorld-spec Racing Differential is assembled by Diffsonline, with a few items added from our all-out race carriers to make this the best performing diff you can put in your SE46. In a spec class where every little bit matters, and enough power to really push the performance of the limited slip unit, this differential is our preferred package.
BimmerWorld E46 Diff Features:
- Multi-disc LSD clutch (without the typical fragile cut cap) gives more active surfaces for smother and quicker engagement/disengagement, resulting in better handling turn entry and power-down
- Ramp angles optimized for SE46 class power and grip levels
- Additional friction surfaces also increases ramp effectiveness to allow for less preload lock (better mid-corner speed)
- More discs spread wear for longer rebuild intervals
- REM-polished gears and bearings - lower operating temps for longer life, and lower friction to reduce driveline loss.
- 3.46 final-drive ratio
- Supplied with 330i manual input and output flanges*
LSD Carrier options: traditional 4-clutch or Diffsonline 6-clutch Race Carrier. The 4-clutch has been our rock-solid LSD unit since the beginning of time but the DOL Race Carrier offers several valuable upgrades, such as: 6 clutch discs, consistent pre-load via coil springs, 8lb weight savings. Our semi-official recommendation is "Whatever the budget allows."
* Flanges: Input flange is 330i CV-style. Output flanges are 330i manual transmission type.
YOU must match your driveshaft and output shafts to the SE46 differential. If you supply a 330i automatic diff or an early-production E46 diff (pre-7/2000), you must tell us you need the manual flanges for SE46. If we don't know what flanges you need there is the chance you can end up with the wrong flanges.
A $500 core charge is not included in the advertised price. Make a selection above if you will have a diff built from one of our cores or will supply a diff to be rebuilt (see note above on flanges). The core charge will be refunded upon receipt of your rebuildable core (determined by the diff builder). Core MUST be received within two weeks of delivery of replacement unit. You can avoid the core charge by sending in a diff to be rebuilt and should be arranged in advance.
