The Lower Control Arm (track rod) on your E39 Non-M 5-Series (6-cylinder) is a key component to the great driving characteristics of your BMW. The soft, rubber bushing naturally wears prematurely, and the ball joint can also become worn and cause poor handling and and bad tire wear, so we always recommend checking it along with the upper control arm (thrust rod) when diagnosing issues.
NOTE: For even better handling and performance, we recommend Powerflex polyurethane bushings as an upgrade.
Our "aftermarket" arms are typically from east Asia and have a comparable quality to OEM that has increased considerably over the past several years. These aftermarket alternatives makes a great option for those trying to keep costs down while still wanting a quality part. Note: Our OEM control arms are typically from the manufacturer that made the parts that were on your car as it rolled out from the factory and are available in a separate listing.

We are offering a Powerflex pre-pressed polyurethane bushing
upgrade**. If you choose to have your arms pre-pressed with Powerflex urethane bushings, please check the box
for each arm purchased and also purchase the Powerflex bushings from the listing below. The arms will come ready to install, pressed and lubricated.
Checking the box only includes the press work; it does not include the
bushings.
*The E34 5 Series and E32 7 Series arms do not include bushings as pictured.
We suggest Powerflex bushings for this application, street or track.
**We currently do not have a Powerflex bushing
option for the E65 7 Series, E60 5 Series, or E23 7 Series. These will come with
factory-style rubber bushings.
***The X5 thrust arms do not include outer ball
joints. They are available through our website.
