This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 33321097009 (33 32 1 097 009) and is described as the rear trailing arm bushing (RTAB) for E36 and E46 3-series, E83 X3, and E85/E86 Z4 models. This is the OEM rubber bushing with the same ride, handling, and expected life as the factory original bushings.

Our preferred bushing for regular street use is the Meyle HD bushing. It has all of the same characteristics as this OEM but with a slightly firmer rubber compound that does a better job of controlling suspension movement. While we won't discourage you from buying an OEM part if you want to maintain originality, the Meyle HD are truly better.

Signs of RTAB wear include loose and unstable feeling during cornering or hard acceleration and clunking noises. Since this is such an integral bushing for performance, it's vital to replace these in pairs as soon as possible. Failures can result in drastic rear suspension geometry changes and, in near-limit situations, potential loss of control. If you track your car, drive aggressively on the street, or have over 50k miles on the current bushings now is the time to replace!

This is an OEM trailing arm bushing manufactured by Lemforder - the original supplier to BMW for this part, as well as many other suspension components. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.

This part number is compatible with other BMW part numbers 33321097009, 33326770786, 33321137806, 33326770817, 33326757885, 33322228153.

We also recommend using these with our Bushing Limiter set for an even higher level of stability and performance, plus even further longevity due to decreased movement of the bushings. Urethane bushings are also available for uncompromised street/track performance.

The proper bushing removal and installation tool is available in our Tool category for purchase or rental. We highly recommend using this specific tool to make the removal and installation considerably easier and much quicker.
