Given a comparable weight, the car with more area under the power curve instead of a high peak number will be more drivable and faster. In a perfect world, if your car could make peak power through the full RPM range, it wouldn't just be good at 6500 RPM - it would be equally as good at 3,000, 5,000, or anywhere you ended up. The goal is to get as close to this optimum situation as possible. Our restrictor plate set allows you to tune your car's power output on the dyno to lower peak power giving you more area under the curve for a given weight. Restrictors effectively flatten Hp peaks without effecting lower RPM areas of the power and torque curves. In other words, add a restrictor and pull 100-200 pounds of ballast! This is far more effective than using the traditional race engine tuned for peak power and piling on weight until the car is the legal weight. Our restrictor plate set comes with 5 restrictors that install easily between the stock throttle body and intake plenum - from 10% to 30% in 5% increments (for approximately up to a 20-30Hp peak drop, depending on engine).
