The R5/FCX(3) Compatibility Table

The R5/FCX line was designed to offer compatibility with most BMW models ranging from 1987 to 2003, plus many 04's. There are a small number of known incompatibilities, and certain R5/FCX models will not cover certain years or models of BMWs. Please find the year range of your BMW application in the table below. Then take a look at the Known Incompatibilities at the bottom of this page to make sure your BMW is fully compatible.

*The R5/FCX3 plugs into the round diagnostic port. This port also comes in some of the following cars past the 2000 date - please verify if you have one of these cars:
00 M5 - May have both a round diagnostic port and the OBD II connector. If the round port is present under the hood, the R5/FCX-3 tool must be used.
