Crankcase Vent Hose, Bank 2, BMW - F10 550i, F06/F12/F13 650i, F02 750i, X5/X6 50i

This vent hose returns oil vapor from the oil separator hose back to the intake manifold on bank 2 (left side) on N63 engines and includes a check valve to keep oil vapor from returning to the cylinder head. This part fits the 1st generation N63 engine on F10 550i (2011, 2012, 2013), F06/F12/F13 650i (2012), F01/F02 750i, 750Li (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012), E70 X5 50i 2011, (2012, 2013), and E71 X6 50i (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).

The crankcase vent system is responsible for separating oil from the air inside the engine and air intake. Liquid oil is returned to the oil pan while oil vapors are sent to the intake manifold to be burned up during the combustion cycle. It's also known as a a PCV, CCV, oil separator, and a cyclonic separator system. Too much oil in the intake air lowers the effective fuel octane, leads to drivability issues, and causes increased emissions. A completely blocked CCV has the potential for very serious engine failure (hydrolock) if liquid oil ends up in the intake. Signs of a failing CCV include: whistling noises in the intake, blueish smoke in the exhaust, high oil consumption, and thick white or yellow gunk under the oil cap.
