Mount inserts fill the void on top of the original rubber mounts and convert them to a semi-solid mount. Instead of a full solid aluminum mount you get a hybrid that may meet the rules for "non solid mounts". These are precision aluminum spacers that fit into the void on top of the stock S55 rubber engine mounts - 22112284817 and 22112284818.

The stiffer the mount the less deflection occurs in the bushing. Deflection can lead to driveline issues, damage from a shifting engine or transmission, broken motor mounts, as well as torque being used to move the engine/transmission instead of traveling along to the drive wheels. By reducing that amount of movement you make the entire platform more reliable. Due to the solid nature of aluminum these are not recommended for street use.

Fitment into the mount is very tight. This is by design and intentional to get the desired stiffness. For installation we recommend wood block and hammer or a large rubber mallet.

These are similar to the BMW Motorsport inserts sold for the M4 GT4 and M2 CS Racing as BMW part numbers 22118416823 and 22118431709.

Installation Note: Each stock engine mount has a crescent-shaped rubber isolator that must be removed before installing the aluminum mount inserts.
