The BimmerWorld View: When you need maximum rubber for the track, a 9.5" square set on E9X 3-series, F30 3-series, F32 4-series, and E89 Z4 is just the ticket. These BimmerWorld wheels are 18x9.5" ET35 at all four corners, which is the perfect width for 265 or 275 tires. Because of the aggressive size, some rubbing should be expected but the alternative is a 9.0" wheel and narrower tire. See Fitment Notes below. These are much wider than stock wheels with a huge footprint to help reduce understeer. These are light weight and strong alloy wheels at a great price for the set!The TA5R sets new standards for flow-formed track wheels with superior strength, light weight, huge brake clearance, and affordable. The TA5R has greater strength and more reinforcement in critical areas: more material in the outer lips, a closed-face hub, and spokes that extend to the outer lip. These features, plus the latest flow-forming manufacturing, have produced a wheel with a load rating of 720kg (1,587lbs), which is higher than other so-called track wheels.
Flow-forming and precise machining also produce a light wheel - the 18x9.5 sits on our scales at 19.58lbs. The TA5R has been fatigue and impact tested and exceeds SAE, JWL, and VIA standards. Flow-forming is a manufacturing process with a tighter grain structure than casting that makes the wheel stronger, similar to a true forged wheel. The superior process far surpasses older manufacturing that use a straight casting process.
The wide-V-spoke design stretches all the way to the outer lip, a key component to the TA5R's strength. They also allow tremendous caliper clearance behind the spokes. 18" sizes clear all 355mm brakes (Brembo F40, Monobloc, ST40, ST60) plus StopTech ST60 380mm kit.
Thanks to its lightweight barrel and robust face design, the TA5R stands up well against the rigors of endurance racing, as well as your average street potholes. The 18" TA5R features a load rating of 1,587lbs.

E9X non-M may need a small spacer in the front. Aggressive tire sizes may cause rubbing between tire and bodywork.
F3X requires no spacers but these aggressive tire sizes may cause rubbing between tire and bodywork.
E89 requires 10-12mm spacers on the front. Aggressive tire sizes may cause rubbing between tire and bodywork.
Tire rubbing on bodywork and/or suspension is possible, depending on tire choice. Many variables must be considered for wheel fitment, especially when using larger wheels or different offsets. These variables include: suspension type and settings, ride height, tire size, bodywork changes, and alignment settings. In some cases, additional parts or modifications may be necessary for fitment that may not be listed in our catalog. Final wheel fitment and clearance is the responsibility of the customer, however, we welcome your questions on fitment, size, offset, or other wheel-related inquiries. Wheel returns are limited to quality issues only.
These wheels are compatible with 10mm spacers, however, 12mm is a better choice due to known design limitations of 10mm spacers.
