Video: Girodisc Iron Brake Rotor Swap for G8X w/ CCB
  • Carbon-Ceramic Brakes do not last forever
  • Track use will quickly accelerate rotor wear
  • Replacement front CCB rotors currently cost over $4,000 each
  • 2-piece iron rotor ring with aluminum center hat
  • Curved vane design improves air circulation
  • Replaceable rotor ring

Carbon-Ceramic Brakes on the G80 M3 and G82 M4 offer many advantages over traditional cast iron rotors and we don't fault anyone for checking that box when the car was ordered. However, it's clear that the long-term costs for these exotic materials are hard to justify. If you track your M3/M4 with CCB you will soon find out exactly how much more it costs to own this advanced technology. A better option is to retrofit traditional cast iron rotors, which are the same exact size and other critical dimensions as the M3/M4 CCB rotors. New brake pads are required.

GiroDisc (guy-ro) rotors are made for track/race cars that need a bolt-on replacement rotor for stock calipers. The rotor has a curved inner vane configuration that works like a centrifugal pump to force air through the rotor. GiroDisc is the next best thing to changing out the entire braking system just to avoid carbon-ceramic costs. With it's two-piece and serviceable design, you get true motorsport hardware with lower consumable costs.

New brake pads are required!!!! Original CCB pads are not designed for iron rotors. This listing includes rotors only. We have track and street pads for this model and will be happy to advise on what pad would be appropriate for your driving.

Note: any alteration from original will change the brake bias and coefficient of friction. Under normal driving you are not likely to notice the change in bias but the brakes will feel different and some adjustment period will be required (brakes will actually feel very much like a stock M2 Competition). Proper brake pad bed-in is required. For track use, brake bias can be compensated for with different pad compounds.

Front and rear iron rotors are required. Do not mix iron components with carbon components. This listing is for the front cast iron rotors only. See below for rear rotors.

Pads are not included and must be purchased separately.
