Core Policy

A "core" is your original part in a rebuildable condition. Some products that BimmerWorld sells require your original part to be returned. These are parts that get rebuilt or reconditioned and an original part(s) is required to complete the rebuild. Rebuilding original hard parts by only replacing the "soft" components keeps the final purchase price low. If new components had to be manufactured the final price would be much higher and be a waste of resources. Re-usable cores help keep the market price for replacement parts low.
Core Charges. A core charge is either included in the price or added to the transaction during processing. This charge covers the cost of sourcing used parts to use for the rebuilding process. The core charge may be refunded upon the return of your good, rebuildable, original part. We do not profit from core charges. Core charges are correct at the time of the last price update but are subject to change.
Core Components. The returned part must be equal in components and hardware as the rebuilt part that you receive. The core must be returned in the manufacturer’s packaging. Drain all fluids from the core (oil, brake fluid, etc). Wrong, incomplete, or damaged cores may not receive a full refund. Use the same care and materials to return your core as we used to ship the part to you. Parts damaged in shipping will not receive a refund (buy the shipping insurance if you want to be covered). Core refunds are at the sole discretion of BimmerWorld or the rebuilder.
Returns Window. Your original core must be returned to BimmerWorld or the rebuilder within 21 days of receiving your order. Before returning your core, contact BimmerWorld for a Return Authorization and instructions. Return shipping charges are not part of the core refund.
In most cases you can avoid the core charge entirely by shipping your original parts to BimmerWorld or the rebuilder ahead of time. We don’t need to apply a core charge if you supply the core upfront. Contact us before sending in your core.
