Harness with plugs for a simple and easy tap into the CAN data on F-series BMW 2, 3, 4-series models - F22, F87, F30, F80, F32, F82, and possibly others*. We hesitate to call this plug-and-play but it's almost that simple.
The CAN data is accessed via a junction box in the passenger footwell. Our harness will interrupt the factory wiring to “tap” the CAN data stream. There is no actual “tapping” wires - this is a proper method using new pins and connectors. Minor de-pinning of the factory harness is required using a standard pick tool. We use only OEM connectors and pins to ensure tight and consistent connection.
We are providing four leads in our harness - CAN High, CAN Low, 12v switched power, and ground. Our new harness takes the place of the original wiring and pins in the vehicle connectors. The de-pinned vehicle wiring will go into our new harness. A pigtail harness is included with un-terminated ends (the wires take OEM 0.5x0.75 mm2 pins (19 AWG wire), see Related Items below or check your device for the proper connector type).
