The ARP S85 Rod Bolt Kit is part of the ARP Pro Series of premium-quality products. These connecting rod bolts are precision CNC-machined to ARP's exacting specifications for the S65 4.0 liter V8, as used in the 2006-2010 M5 and M6 models, designed for optimum reliability. This set can be used in any 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 E60 M5 sedan, E63 M6 coupe, or E64 M6 convertible.
ARP rod bolts are thread rolled after heat treating, which gives them about 1000% (that's ten times!) better fatigue strength than those studs that are threaded prior to heat treatment (a very common industry practice). It costs more to do it this way, because it's tough on tooling, but the results are well worth the extra effort. The added quality is put to good use in any E9X M3 V8 engine, whether configuring your S85 for racing longevity, or an over-built street car for trouble free operation.
