This set of BimmerWorld TA5R wheels is designed specifically for heavily modified E36 or E46 M3. The extra width is essential for race rubber and the lower offset is an excellent fit for these special track builds (note: E46 M3 likely requires spacers for the rear wheels). These are lightweight and strong alloy wheels at a great price for the set!
We designed this set for specific track-only fitments:
E36 stock body & 255 tires: requires heavy negative camber and fender rolling
E36 with fender flares/widebody & 275 square tires: should be a bolt-on with this setup
E46 non-M stock body & 255 tires: requires heavy negative camber and fender rolling
E46 M3 stock body & 275 square tires: 9.5" square is one of the most common square track setups so this is an easy fit (most cars require a 10-12mm spacer on the rear)
TA5R uses the latest industry technology known as flow-forging or flow-forming. The process is similar to casting but with a stronger roll-forged barrel and a tighter grain structure that makes the wheel stronger. The superior process far surpasses older manufacturing that use a straight casting process. Our TA5R 17" wheels have a load rating of 660kg (over 1,450lbs), which is higher than other lightweight track wheels. The 9.5 weighs just over 18lbs. The TA5R has been fatigue and impact tested using SAE, JWL, and VIA standards.
The wide-V-spoke design stretches all the way to the outer lip, a key component to the TA5R's strength. They also allow tremendous caliper clearance behind the spokes. 17" sizes clear StopTech, Wilwood, and PFC 332mm and 355mm 4-piston brake kits.
Thanks to its lightweight, reinforced barrel and robust face design, the TA5R stands up well against the rigors of endurance racing, as well as your average street potholes. The 17" TA5R features a load rating of 1,455lbs.

Fitment Note: this size and offset is specifically intended for E36 with fender flares and E46 M3 with stock body. The E46 M3 usually requires 10-12mm spacers for the rear wheels (sold separately). It's possible this size will fit other BMW models but we have only confirmed fitment for E36 and E46 M3.
General Fitment Note: This set has been specifically chosen for aggressive track/race use and some compromises should be expected to fit wide rubber on these cars. Tire rubbing on bodywork and/or suspension is likely, depending on tire choice. Many variables must be considered for wheel fitment, especially when using larger wheels or different offsets. These variables include: suspension type and settings, ride height, tire size, bodywork changes, and alignment settings. In some cases, additional parts or modifications may be necessary for fitment that may not be listed in our catalog. Final wheel fitment and clearance is the responsibility of the customer, however, we welcome your questions on fitment, size, offset, or other wheel-related inquiries.
