The front sway bar link connects the sway bar (anti roll bar) to the rest of the suspension on E70 X5, F15 X5, E71 X6, and F16 X6 models. As the suspension and the sway bar go through their motions the link rotates and twists. On cars that get lowered suspensions or track use the ball joints in the link get a real workout. If you hear clunking from the front suspension, especially over bumps and potholes, the links should be evaluated.
