Side hood vents designed specifically for E36 and E46 to reduce front-end lift and vent hot air.

These vents are designed to work on their own or in combination of our center hood vent. We could have adopted a universal hood vent kit for E36 or E46. But after evaluation they did not live up to expectations and we decided it was worth attacking these from a high engineering level. “It's just a vent, right?” No.
The purpose of hood vents is three-fold: 1.) Vent hot air: our vents are actually a by-product of wind tunnel development of our Pikes Peak E36. We created a low-pressure zone over the louvers so that high-pressure air over the hood will actually pull air from the vents. The air is moving rather than just heat dissipating. While our Center Hood Vent is designed to extract warm air from the front radiator, these side vents work best on forced induction (turbo or supercharger) cars. 2.) Improved radiator performance: with air actually moving through the vent our radiators and coolers became more efficient, which allowed us to reduce front end openings, tighten gaps, and improve aerodynamics. 3.) Reduce front-end lift: without a vent, air enters the engine bay and has nowhere to go. Some cars have a small vent at the rear of the hood (E36 coupe) but it's quite common to see hoods straining against their latches, especially lightweight steel or carbon hoods. These are acting more like a sail and lifting the front end. We're not adding downforce but we're reducing lift so the rest of your front aerodynamic aids work better.
