Hood vents designed specifically for BMW applications to reduce front-end lift and vent hot air.

We could have adopted a universal hood vent kit for F8X, F3X, and E9X. But after evaluation they did not live up to expectations and we decided it was worth attacking these from a high engineering level. “It's just a vent, right?” No.
The purpose of hood vents is three-fold: 1.) Vent hot air: our vents are actually a by-product of wind tunnel development of our Pikes Peak E36. We created a low-pressure zone over the louvers so that high-pressure air over the hood will actually pull air from the vents. The air is moving rather than just heat dissipating. Placement is key - this center vent should be placed just aft of the back of the radiator. 2.) Improved radiator performance: with air actually moving through the vent our radiators and coolers became more efficient, which allowed us to reduce front end openings, tighten gaps, and improve aerodynamics. 3.) Reduce front-end lift: without a vent, air enters the engine bay and has nowhere to go. Some cars have a small vent at the rear of the hood but it's quite common to see hoods straining against their latches, especially lightweight steel or carbon hoods. These are acting more like a sail and lifting the front end. We're not adding downforce but we're reducing lift so the rest of your front aerodynamic aids work better.
BimmerWorld Hood Vent features: designed for specific BMW apps low-pressure zone creates tangible functional improvement, not a universal vent high-strength and crack-resistant aluminum powdercoated (not anodized) large number of attachment points light weight - only 1.8lbs detailed instructions and cutting template included
Application Note: this was designed using the F30/F32 hood. The size makes it compatible with other cars listed below but body lines and creases on the hood, and the support structure underneath, may lead to an imperfect fit. Contact us with any questions or concerns.
E90 sedan Note: not for E90 LCI models (2009-2011).
