Rear Trunk Hatch Spring Support, BMW - G01 X3, F97 X3M

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 51247397319 (51 24 7 397 319) and is described as the gas spring used for the automatic electric rear hatch on X3 M40i and X3M models. This spring only works with the automatic trunk opening feature (Option Code S316A) and is found on the left (driver's) side of the tailgate. The right side is the powered strut for lifting the hatch.
