This wire harness is intended by BMW to be used to fix your damaged trunk lid wiring harness, and can be used on any E36 sedan, E36 coupe, or E36 convertible model. 

If you're having wiring issues with your trunk mounted accessories (tail lights, trunk actuator, license plate lighting, etc) than there's a good chance your E36's trunk wiring harness has been damaged. The first part number was made obsolete and discontinued, and now fowards to this number (61128391788  / 61 12 8 3917 880) which is the most recent design. As with any electrical harness repair set, some knowledge of wiring and splicing is recommended. This wiring harness is your best bet of finally having a trouble-free E36 trunk lid. Always disconnect your BMW's battery when performing electrical work.
