Washer Pump Strainer/Grommet, Aftermarket

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 61667006063 (61 66 7 006 063) and is described as a Strainer/Grommet for Washer Pump. It's used on many BMW models, so see the list below.

Fitment Exceptions / Notes:
On 135i models - For E88 convertible ONLY
On E36 M3 - Only for cars from 1/1997 build and newer (including all 1998 and 1999)

This strainer sits inline of the washer pump, and acts as a screen or filter in the windshield washer system to prevent dirt, bits of leaves, and other contaminants that may enter your washer reservoir and clog either your washer pump(s) or washer nozzles. It also serves as the sealing grommet to the washer tank. The strainer does not always need to be replaced. But given the difficult access for some of the washer pumps it makes sense to change the strainer at the same time.

If you are doing any work on the washer pumps, washer fluid reservoir, or are tracking down a clog in the system, we recommend replacing this grommet and strainer.

On most 2006+ models there may be two different strainers depending if your car has an optional headlight cleaning feature. Or there could be a separate pump for the headlight washers. This is the strainer for the windshield washer pump but NOT the headlight cleaning system.

This part is manufactured by an aftermarket supplier of European auto parts, including many body and trim pieces. While not carrying OEM status, this part follows the design of the original very closely and uses similar materials. An aftermarket part may even have the same TUV approval as its OEM counterpart. The brand may even be OEM to another manufacturer besides BMW. This aftermarket brand has a two year warranty - the same as Genuine BMW and OEM brands.
