The rotors feature StopTech's patented directional vaning pattern that expels hot air to keep the rotor cool and your braking performance on point. Controlling temperatures is key to braking performance, on or off the track. A StopTech Aerorotor rotor is more than just a place to absorb and store heat - Aerorotors are specifically designed to circulate cooling air and cool the brakes faster. This leads to more consistent braking performance, less heat soak throughout the system, and longer pad life.

The slots are machined into the rotor and help evacuate gasses and dust, shed heat, and keep the brake pad surface clean. And in wet, raining conditions, the grooves help push water off the braking surface for better stopping power. StopTech also uses a special metallurgy and directional cooling vanes to improve high temperature performance. The slots also serve as a visual wear indicator. Slots are machined to the rotor's minimum thickness where it crosses the outside edge. If you cannot see the slots along the outside edge, the rotor has worn down to its discard depth.

Unlike imitation two-piece rotors, the StopTech rotor friction rings are replaceable. Keep the aluminum hat and only replace the cast iron friction ring. New hardware is included with new rings.
