Carbotech XP20 racing brake pad for BMW F87 M2 Competition (rear), M2 CS Racing (rear), and Brembo F40/F50/B/H/GT1/Monobloc P Caliper calipers.
Fitment note: Not for Euro-spec M2 Competition. For US-spec M2 Comp only (Euro-spec / Non-US M2 Competition models the same pads as a F80 M3 or F82 M4 unless the car was optioned with S2NH brakes (silver calipers, 6-piston front, 4-piston rear).
Brembo F40/F50/B/H/GT1/Monobloc P Caliper calipers are a 4-piston caliper that formed the basis for most Brembo GT big brake kits found on many sports cars. These were mainly used on the front axle but could be found on some rear applications. They are commonly known as Brembo “F40” calipers.
XP20 friction compound is a high-torque output but with more consistency and higher initial bite than the XP10 or XP12. This pad is an excellent choice for late-model BMWs with smooth modulation and compatbiltiy with ABS and long life. A logical evolution of the XP10 line, updated for the later (and heavier) BMWs.
Carbotech Racing Brake Pads are some of the highest performing brake pads in the world, coming directly from Carbotech's research and manufacturing plant in Concord, NC, the racing headquarters of the USA.
Carbotech Performance Brakes utilize true race compounds that are rotor friendly, eliminating the grabbing and locking up that keeps so many drivers and race cars from performing at their peak. You want to go deep to gain those precious fractions of a second before you need to brake, and Carbotech brakes let you do just that. In every turn, all race long.
Designed by racers for racers, Carbotech brakes can be specified to meet the needs of your car and driving style. Give us a call and we can recommend the compounds that will be perfect for your front and rear pads and shoes, assuring that they perform together with optimum effectiveness.
Carbotech pads are relatively easy on rotors, and if you're using your street car for track days, Carbotechs produce a mostly non-corrosive dust for easy wheel and paint cleaning.
Carbotech XP20 Compound:
+ Very high initial bite
+ More torque and fade resistance than compound XP10 or XP12
+ Temperature range of 275 °F to 2,000 °F+
+ Outstanding release and modulation that has made all other Carbotech compounds so successful
+ Aggressive friction but still very rotor friendly and gives off 100% non-corrosive dust.
+ Recommended only for expert/very advanced drivers
+ Most affective on heavier cars on R-Compound tires (E9X and later)
+ Replaces the older XP16 compound. the XP20 is a nice step up from the highly successful XP16.
Not recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possibly elevated levels of dust and noise. As a competition pad, there is no slot for the pad sensor and you will have to monitor pad wear visually. The sensor can be removed or tied back out of the way.
