This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 34208094317 (34 20 8 094 317) and is described as a rear brake dust shield that can be used on F87 M2, F80 M3, and F82 M4. There are two versions of this dust shield - the standard and this "M Sport" version. In some cases, the clearance of the standard shield is too tight and rocks, debris, and tire klag can get caught between the brake disc and metal shield. The M Sport version has more room in critical places.
