Brake pad wear sensor wires are key safety components that allow worry-free driving without the need for constant visual inspection of your brake pad material thickness. Once the brake lining dash light is illuminated on your dash, this is a warning of thin brake pad material. Pads should be replaced as soon as possible, and the sensor is a required replacement once the brake lining dash has come on.

This brake sensor wire is specific to the front on the E85/E86 chassis Z4 with either the 3.0si (N52) engine, or the M Roadster / M Coupe with the S54 engine. These Z4 models were offered in 2006, 2007, 2008 model years. It measures an overall length of approximately 612 mm, or 24 inches from end to end.

TECH NOTE: On a majority of applications the brake lining light can be reset easily by installing a new sensor and turning the ignition to the second position (without starting the car) for approximately one minute - or until the light goes out. Refer to your Bentley service manual for further instruction if this method doesn't work.
