Front ABS Sensor, OEM - E36, Z3

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 34521163027 (34-52-1-163-027) and is described as Front ABS Sensor - E36 3 Series (92-99) including 318i, 318is, 318ti, 325i, 325is, 328i, 328is, E36 M3, and Z3 (all). 

This front wheel speed sensor is used by the anti-lock brake system (ABS), which is why it's commonly referred to as an ABS sensor. The car also uses this wheel speed sensor for other on-board vehicle systems, including the DSC / traction control system and calculation of the speedometer and odometer measurements. 

If your E36 or Z3's ABS sensor has failred, you will get warning lights and codes for ABS / DSC. A new OEM sensor installs quite easily and will cure your ABS/DSC warnings and have your car back to normal.
