This ABS Wheel Speed Sensor fits the following applications:
E46 non-M: 1999, 2000
E46 M3: 2001, 2002

Not for cars with DSC.
Not for cars with xi / AWD.
Not for non-M models 2001 and Later.
Not for E46 M3 2003 and later.

The ABS and DSC control unit relies on information from the sensors to set braking and traction control settings. A sensor going bad or failed will set the system into a dangerous failsafe setting and possibly a limp mode. This is a OEM wheel speed/ABS/DSC sensor, made to the same specifications as the BMW engineers intended.
