Looking for a stock replacement front brake pad for your classic E31 840Ci with the stock-BMW Brembo caliper? The DFC 5000 Advanced Street pads have all of the qualities and engineering of more expensive Sport/Track pads, but in a street-friendly formula that is ideal for regular day-to-day driving. (Comparable to StopTech 308 street compound, which was discontinued.)
Only for cars with the factory equipped Brembo brake caliper. Not all 840Ci had this brake option.
Choosing the best brake pad for your driving is a critical safety decision, in addition to other considerations. What we use on the race track, or even autocross, is rarely what we would recommend for the street. The DFC 5000 Street pads were formulated using decades of braking expertise that makes them outshine other pad formulas, and making them very livable and user-friendly on the road.
DFC 5000 Street Pad Attributes -
-
Engineered strictly for street use, just like an OEM pad
-
BMW chassis/model-specific pad formulas
-
Moderate initial bite (not so much that they're 'touchy')
-
Smooth and quiet modulation
-
Low dust (unlike factory BMW pads!)
-
Easy on rotors and very good pad wear rates
The Tech Behind DFC 5000 Advanced Pads:
- Positive Mold - Ensures consistent material density throughout the pad
- Post-cured - Eliminates any friction material impurities
- Scorched - Heat-treated to minimize initial break-in time
- Chamfered - Reduces noise when applying the brakes
- Slotted (when applicable) to dissipate heat and prevent brake fade
- Rubber-Steel-Rubber shim - Reduces noise, vibration, and harshness
No brake pad is a one-for-all answer for BMW enthusiasts. These pads work best when used for daily driving and commuting, but will not work well in a track environment (maybe autocross). For spirited street driving, autocross, or very light track use, give one of our knowledgeable sales staff a call or e-mail and we'll be happy to help select the best pad based on your BMW and how you plan to use it.
