We've made the coolant optional in case it's cheaper for you to buy it locally (and save on shipping). We don't believe in forcing you to buy a bigger package when all you need is the basics.
Our package does away with as much of the original plastic parts as possible, especially the thermostat housing and water pump pulley. Original plastic components have not held up well to heat. They become brittle and crack over time. Coolant leaks from the original plastic housing are common which is why we prefer an aluminum housing. The original plastic pulley is known to fail and break apart. Damage can be extensive to the engine fan, hoses, and probably the radiator too. New belts are also recommended and you can add them to your order below.
The water pump included in this package is made by an OEM supplier to BMW. This pump uses a composite material for the impeller - lighter than metal and much more durable than the plastic that plagued BMW water pumps in the early 1990s.
All of these parts come with a two year warranty.
