Expansion Tank, Behr - F10 550i, F13 650i, F02 750i

OEM replacement radiator expansion tank used on early models of the N63 V8 engine: 2011-2013 F10 550i, 2012 F12/F13 650i, and 2009-2012 F01/F02 750i. These models use the N63 engine, not the N63TU engine that came out in 2013. Note the years as this expansion tank will not work on the later models.

The coolant expansion tank on F10/F13/F02 models is made of plastic and susceptible to heat and chemicals in the engine bay. These plastics are known to become brittle and fragile with age, mileage, and thousands of heat cycles (cold to hot to cold again). Eventually the plastic gets so brittle cracks or holes form, and you'll either get a slow leak or a blow-out that leaves your BMW on the side of the road, overheating. Replace this expansion tank preventatively and you can avoid this type of breakdown. This is a great part to replace while doing a cooling system flush or overhaul.

This is an OEM expansion tank manufactured by Behr-Hella - the original supplier to BMW for this part, as well as many other cooling system components. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.
