The DCT transmission on the E90, E92, E93 M3 uses a heat exchanger on top of the transmission, in addition to the cooler in the front spoiler. The heat exchanger takes oil from the transmission and cools it with engine coolant. This hose carries oil from the heat exchanger back to the transmission thermostat (and back into the transmission). Crimped metal fittings mean this hose will develop a leak over time. An o-ring at the thermostat end should be replaced at the same time.
This is a Genuine BMW DCT oil line with a two year warranty.
