Auxiliary Right Radiator (Intercooler), BMW - F8X M2/M3/M4

This is a new Genuine BMW replacement right auxiliary radiator for the F87 M2 Competition, F80 M3, and F82 M4, and M4 GTS. This is the small radiator located in the right (passenger's) side front bumper. This radiator works with the larger charge air cooler (17112284608) in the nose and circulates coolant used in the top-mount intercooler. Coolant flows from the intercooler and electric auxiliary coolant pump to this auxiliary radiator and then onto the main charge air radiator in front. Given its location it is very susceptible to rocks and debris.

Radiator failures are caused by internal corrosion, stress fractures, or external damage. There is no harm in replacing the radiator as part of proactive cooling system maintenance but a high quality radiator should last 150,000 miles or more given proper care. Always use distilled water and Genuine BMW coolant, or the exact OEM equivalent, in your cooling system. Coolant must not contain nitrite, amine, and phosphates to avoid corrosion build-up inside the system. Avoiding a leaking radiator or overheating is one of the best ways to ensure long life for your engine.
