The turbos on the S63 engine are cooled separately from the main engine cooling system. They have their own coolant pump, lines, expansion tank, and radiator. This is so coolant can be circulated even when the engine is off or low RPM. This pump is specific to the E70 X5M and E71 X6M, which were the first / original general M model SAV/SUVs with the potent S63 engine. These models were offered in model years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
