Automatic Transmission Filter Service Kit, Rein - E90 335d, E60 550i, E63 650i, E65 750i/760i, E70 X5, E71 X6

This kit goes above and beyond the Genuine BMW kit of the same part number, including the troublesome Mechatronix sleeve! This is a full service kit for the ZF 6-speed automatic transmission used in E90 335d, E60 550i, E63 650i, E65 750i/760i, E70 X5, E71 X6 models. Also used on the early F01/F02 750i, 750Li, 750Li xDrive 6 speed models (2009-2012). Automatic transmissions use "lifetime" fluid but the transmission can be serviced with new fluid and filter*.

This kit is for the 6-speed automatic only. Some of the BMW fitments listed switched to the later 8-speed transmission during or after the 2012 model year.

* - Note that changing the fluid on automatic transmissions can be a very technical process that requires a precise procedure, special tools, and/or professional-level diagnostics software. There is no doubt that fresh fluid will perform better than used and dirty fluid. However, most of the problems we hear come from an improper transmission flush where particles and debris block fluid flow or a failure to set the correct fluid level after. We believe automatic transmission fluid service should be left to a professional BMW technician and that extended fluid service (>50,000 miles) is acceptable as long as the fluid level is regularly checked and maintained.
