Flywheel or Input Shaft Pilot Bearing - E82, F22, E46, E9X, F3X, E60, F10, Z4

This is the OEM pilot bearing, manufactured by INA, for 3/2003+ E46 325i/330i, E82 128i/135i/1M, F22 228i/M235i/M240i, E90/E91/E92/E93 325i/328i/330i/335i, F30 328i/335i, F32 428i/435i, E60 525i/530i/545i/550i, E63 645ci/650i, and Z4 models with manual transmissions. It also fits on 3/2003+ E46 325i with SMG transmission (but not manual). E53 X5 is for 2004-2006 model years only. 

INA is the OEM supplier to BMW for many bearings and driveline components so it's guaranteed to match the original BMW bearing for fitment, performance, and longevity. It has a two year warranty.

It's a good idea to replace the pilot bearing any time the transmission is removed, especially for clutch, flywheel, or rear main seal replacement. Unlike previous designs this pilot bearing is installed either in the flywheel or inside the input shaft for the transmission (depending on the year and model). It can only be accessed with the transmission and/or clutch removed which is why replacing it during a clutch job is the smart move. This is a low load bearing that usually does not see significant wear. Check the end of the input shaft for wear or scars that might indicate a problem with the bearing. A seized pilot bearing can affect the transmission input shaft, causing difficult shift engagement and potentially permanent transmission failure.

Note: this pilot bearing may be installed in the flywheel or inside the transmission input shaft. If you have a flywheel-mounted pilot bearing and you order a new OEM flywheel with your clutch, it should come with this pilot bearing (no need to order separately). If the pilot bearing is installed in your input shaft a new pilot bearing is not included and should be ordered separately.
