This clutch slave cylinder is for any 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006 model BMW M3 (Coupe or Convertible) with the sequential manual gearbox (SMG) option. 

This clutch slave cylinder is electronically actuated by the SMG-II (SMG2) system. When it fails, it will most likely leave a puddle under your car and your SMG transmission unable to shift or go into gear. Of all of the SMG related failures, this one is among the easiest issues to fix.
