This shifter lever can also be used as a thrifty "ultra short shift kit" for the older 3 series including E30 318i/325e/325i and E36 323i/325i/328i/M3. It installs in place of your factory shift lever with the same hardware, but reduces the length of the shifter for a much-reduced throw (travel) between shifts. The MZ3 shifter is shorter than almost any other so shifts will be extremely short, tight, and notchy on these other models.
