The AAF transmission brace replaces the thin cast aluminum brace with a thicker and reinforced aluminum brace. As a true race-developed part this brace design has been properly reinforced for the typical loads and forces from solid motor and transmission mounts. The factory cast piece is known to crack or deform from serious track use. The more rigid brace reduces the changes of mis-shifts too.
When used in Spec E46 the series-mandated exhaust does not need modification to clear the brace (unlike the factory 6-speed brace).
This is Made in the USA and a proper upgrade aimed at track use.
Fits with the ZF 6-speed found in E46 non-M models and E85/E86 Z4 and Z4M.
This brace is designed to be solidly-mounted to the transmission and MUST be used with solid engine mounts (sold separately, click here for kit).
