Relay, 5 Prong, Salmon, SMG Relay & Others - E36, E46, E9X, E39, E38, Z3, Z4

This pinkish / orange'ish relay is often referred to as the "salmon colored relay" and is used in a few different BMW electrical applications. It's often the cause of no-start issues on E46 M3 SMG models. On the SMG cars, the purpose of this relay is to supply power to the SMG hydraulic unit. If the relay fails the engine will not start as the hydraulic unit must be powered on.
