This air-to-oil heat exchanger is located behind the driver side fender liner, along the driver side frame rail. It can be hard to find at first, but could be the source for fault codes and poor shifting on automatic models. If you are having transmission temperature faults, hard or hesitation when shifting, it could be that this cooler has internally clogged or failed, increasing the oil temps of your transmission. The fix for this issue is a new heat exchanger / transmission oil cooler unit.
