This is a new Valeo 80 Amp (Compact) alternator. It comes with a 2 Year Warranty.

This 80 amp alternator fits all E36 6 cylinder including US model E36 M3 (1995 3.0 liter & 1996-1999 3.2 liter), 1992-1995 E36 325i 325is, 1996-1998 E36 328i 328is 323is, and the 1992-1994 E34 525i. This standard capacity alternator generator was used on the M50/M52 engine on the E34 and E36 chassis as well as the S50/S52 engine of the E36 M3, spanning model years 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999.

This is the smaller alternator size for this cars, so if your car has any added equipment, such as an upgraded stereo, lighting, or other higher draw electrical accessories, you may want a higher capacity. But for most "stock" cars, this 80 amp is an affordable option from the highest quality OE (original equipment) manufacturer, Valeo. 

Perhaps best of all, this M50/M52/S50/S52 alternator is new, and not rebuilt. This means no core charge and no hassle of a core exchange. 

Please note: On E34 525i, we recommend checking your current alternator. This smaller 80amp unit was only used on M50 525i from 9/1991 through 4/1995 (1992 model year into the 1994 model year). If your 525i used a larger unit, you should retain the same size (or larger).
