This alternator is a Bosch AL9449X, rated at 210 amps. If your BMW came with a slightly smaller amperage generator (such as a 170 amp or 185 amp) than this alternator is actually a slight upgrade, and will be able to handle a higher electrical draw (great for those who use lots of electrical accessories, or have upgraded their stereo or lighting.) On most F30 328i / F22 228i / F32 428i / F10 528i and other N20/N26 powered BMWs, this is the standard sized alternator.
