Main Bearing Set, Glyco - M20, M42, M50, M52, M44, M54, S50, S52, S54

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11211706847 (11-21-1-706-847) and is described as  the complete set of upper and lower main bearing shells for M20 (3/88+), M42, M50, M52, M44, M54, S50, S52, S54 engines. These bearings match the Yellow code and standard size (60mm) of factory BMW bearings. If you have a machined crankshaft please contact us for undersized bearings.

When replacing main bearings BMW recommends you start with a full set of Yellow coded bearings. Check each journal clearance with Plastigage and then make individual adjustments as needed with other bearing colors (Green or White). You may end up with all Yellow bearings or a mix of colors. These OEM bearings are all Yellow spec to get you started. BMW does not publish bearing clearance so our advice is to have your BMW dealer look this up for you.

As a set of bearings this includes BMW part numbers 11211743457 (x1), 11211705815 (x1), 11211706847 (x6), and 11211717526 (x6).

This is an OEM main bearing set manufactured by Glyco - the original supplier to BMW for engine bearings. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.

Note for M42/M44 4-cylinder: this is a set of bearings for a 6-cylinder engine. Our suppliers do not provide 4-cylinder specific sets so you will have extra bearings.

Note for M20: this is the later-style bearing for engines produced after 3/1988.
