Valve Cover Stud Bolt, M7/6x29.5, BimmerWorld - E36, E46, E39, Z3, Z4, M50, M54, S52

The BimmerWorld View: New and Improved! Since BMW discontinued this critical piece in early 2023 we decided to make our own with some improvements. Our stud is made from 4140 steel, heat treated to increase strength and durability, and Phosphate oil coating for corrosion resistance. The best improvement may be the price - 1/3 the price of the Genuine piece!

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11121718856 (11 12 1 718 856) and is described as the stud on the cylinder head that secures the valve cover on M50, M52, M52TU, M54, M56, S50, S52 engines. BMW calls it an Engine Stud Bolt and it's double-ended threaded stud - M7 where it goes into the head and M6 for the valve cover cap nut. The original BMW stud is discontinued so we made our own!

This valve cover stud bolt was used on M50, M52, M52tu, M54, S50, and S52 straight six cylinder engines, as found in many E36 and E46 3 Series, E39 and E60 5 Series, E83 X3, E53 X5 3.0 liter, Z3 and E85/E86 Z4 non-M models.

Sold individually. Be sure to order enough for your application. Engines use as many as 14, but as these are typically reusable. This is dimensionally the same as the BMW stud but without the rounded seat (that adds a lot of machining cost).
