Crankshaft to Camshafts Lower Timing Chain, OEM - E39, E38, E31, E53 M62/M62TU

This timing chain runs from the crankshaft and up to each intake cam on M62 and M62TU engines used in E39 540i, E38 740i, E31 840ci, and E53 X5 4.4i/4.6is. Chains can wear and stretch over time which will first reveal itself as a rattling noise (that is not from the VANOS) as the chain slackens and hits the guides. First check the timing chain tensioner (#11317531813) and then plan on a major overhaul of the front of the engine.

This is an OEM timing chain manufactured by the original supplier to BMW for timing components. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.
