VANOS Oil Pressure Hose, BMW - E60 M5, E63 M6

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11367838670 (11 36 7 838 670) and is described as an oil pressure hose for the VANOS system of the S85 V10 engine. This hose runs from the Pressure Accumulator to the Connecting Line and onto the VANOS units. The other oil pressure hose (11367838669) attaches to this hose via a t-connector and Banjo fitting. The line is made up of a hard metal pipes at the ends with flexible metal hose in the middle. Leaks can develop at the fittings between the hard and flexible sections. Not only can oil leak but it reduces the pressure available for the VANOS system and that can lead to very expensive engine damage. A telltale sign of a leaking hose is VANOS system pressure will be low (the pump works at 115 bar).

Remember to also replace the crush washers located at either end (4 total). Banjo bolts do not have to be replaced but they are cheap enough to buy and do them anyway. See Related Items links below.
