BE-Clevite Connecting Rod Bearing Set - E9X M3, S65 V8

These E9X M3 S65 bearings are manufactured for additional oil clearance for 10W60 engine oil and using common rod bearing materials instead of the harder metals of the latest factory BMW bearing shells.

A popular alternative to new factory bearings are these bearings made of lead-copper by the OEM supplier to BMW, Clevite. These bearings use the industry-standard materials so that bearing wear is easily calculated in oil analysis and the softer material is less likely to damage the crankshaft. The sizes and clearances have been carefully chosen, after consulting with engine-building experts, to work with the factory BMW 10W60 engine oil. These bearings are custom made by Clevite specifically for V8 S65 M3 enthusiast owners who demand an alternative to the factory BMW bearings. They are not designed to last longer than any OE BMW bearing, just optimized based on BE's exhaustive research and analysis.

In addition to the Tri-Metal construction the bearings receive the latest anti-wear Clevite F-series coating. This is a new silver-oxide formula that will outperform the previous PTFE coating while handling 30% higher loads. The silver-oxide also has a better lubrication and oil retention properties at low oil thresholds and tighter clearances - perfect for S85 V10 and S65 V8 engines.

Engine Oil Note: these bearings have been specifically designed for use with BMW 10W60 oil. Correct oil operating temperature is 220°F - you should properly warm your engine before subjecting it to higher throttle angles and RPM. These bearings are sized for a standard crankshaft that has not been machined. They are a direct alternative replacement for BMW part numbers 11247841703 and 11247841702, as used in all 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 BMW M3 models.

Note: connecting rod bolts cannot be re-used. They are stretch-to-yield and must be replaced. BE also offers stronger ARP rod bolts that resist rod bore deformation better than stock bolts.
