E82 128i, E9X 328i N51 SULEV Stage 2 Performance Software

The original factory software in your BMW has been engineered for emissions compliance and mass market appeal, leaving performance out of the equation. The N51 engine in the E82 128i, E90/E91/E92/E93 328i SULEV models is a detuned version of what was available in other models and software tuning is part of the solution to getting that power back.

Our Stage 2 software is for tuning a stock 128i/328i N51 SULEV or for very basic intake and exhaust mods. We call it Stage 2 to be consistent with our N52 software. The N51 engine has the same 3-stage manifold as the 330i and only software is holding it back. We tune the N51 engine for higher octane fuel. BMW deliberately de-tunes the car for lower octane that we have in the US. This naturally leaves some room for improvement if you only run 91 or higher octane fuel. We tune the ignition, camshaft, and VANOS values to optimize them for better fuel. We also adjust the fuel maps to match the more aggressive timing and remove or raise the artificial torque limiters. Our software produces more horsepower and torque and a smoother-running engine. We don't just tune for full throttle either - there is more torque available in the mid-RPM as well! Throttle response is also improved.

Our custom performance tune for the 128i/328i combines these years of BMW performance tuning, racing and track events, and ECU tuning into this fantastic N51 software upgrade.

Our software is installed via a D-CAN cable (included) and your Windows laptop (compatible with XP, Win7, Win8, and Win10). The D-CAN cable is included at this price. Read and email your stock file and a tuned file will be returned to you. This is better than off-the-shelf tunes that never look at your original software.
